Curry mee is a noodle dish that comes with a curry broth. Ubiquitous in both Malaysia and Singapore, nonetheless, there are different versions of curry mee, each being popular in a particular geographical region.
The coffee shop at the western junction between Lorong Seratus Tahun and Naning Street sells one of the best Penang curry mee on Penang Island. Owned by the Moey family who opened their stall in 1960, it serves curry mee for breakfast until noon daily.
The smallest bowl of curry mee, without coagulated pig's blood and cockles, costs merely RM4.00.
The stall also provides a small bowl of their home-made sambal (chilli paste in Malay). One can add as much sambal as he/she likes into the bowl of curry mee.
